The Origin of Pride: Lucifer’s Fall The most common example of pride is found in Isaiah 14:12–15, where Lucifer declares: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God… I will be like the Most High.” This self-exaltation led to his fall, setting the precedent for pride as rebellion against God.
